The Breton Top continues to remain as an influence on fashion because of its history and timeless appeal. The Breton shirt originated from the French navy as part of their uniform and eventually became popular among fishermen. This style had widely been accepted in the masses and worn by almost everyone. The stripe top and other nautical styles continue to influence fashion today and can be seen in designer collections & stores everywhere. I, myself, am a huge nautical fan and love wearing clothes & jewelry inspired by this style.
