Last week one night after work I attended Betsey Johnson's 68th Birthday Party Event at her Soho boutique. I had read about the event and decided to check it out since it was so close to my apartment and conveniently located in my trendy neighborhood. The store was decorated with girlie, fun and playful accents. There was a pink "red carpet" outside, tons of balloons both inside & out, welcome banner, cupcakes & sweet treats passed by girls all dolled up in Betsey Johnson's famous cocktail dresses. There was a DJ, bar and a great crowded party. When Betsey showed up shortly after the crowd went wild. It was so great to see her in person & listen to her speak about her fashion & life in general. There is nothing I love more than a picnic in the park on a beautiful summer day. Last summer I got the cutest picnic basket full of all the neccessities. A few weeks ago I was shopping in Marshalls with my sister and stumbled upon a wicker handbag that looked similiar to my picnic basket on a smaller scale. I know Kate Spade and other fashion designers make them and wondered if this is a trend I should jump on? I already have a unique straw purse that I love to break out every summer that I always get compliments on. What do you think ? Hot or not ?
